Robert spent his entire career in the hospitality industry, serving as a chief accountant for several hotel properties, with the last being the Roosevelt Hotel, where he was known for his dedication and professionalism.
An old soul, Robert appreciated both the simple and refined things in life. He loved music from the 1940s and had a fondness for crystal, flowers, and fine art. He had a deep interest in history—especially Egyptian, while also enjoying Greek history.
Genuine and kind-hearted, Robert found joy in connecting with others. He had a remarkable ability to connect with anyone he met, always finding common ground and making others feel seen and welcome. With a great sense of humor, he never met a stranger and was always known for his warm, welcoming smile.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Poole and Jacqueline Poole; their mother, Janet Clement Poole; and his sisters, Darlene Rabalais Albritton and Susan Iverson McDougal.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Haddie Doris Poole, and his siblings, Gary Rabalais and Ronnie Rabalais.
Robert will be remembered for his warmth, his character, his humor, and as a devoted father to his two beautiful daughters, Rebecca and Jacqueline.
A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Parkway, Kenner, LA 70065. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM at the church.
“Saint Anthony, gentle servant of God, guide him safely into the presence of the Lord and grant him eternal rest.”
