Robert T. Tonti

Robert T Tonti passed away of natural causes Wednesday January 4th 2017, he was 81. Robert was a resident of Covington, Louisiana. Robert was born in Woodbury, New Jersey on April 20th 1935. Robert was preceded in death by his parents William Tonti and Margaret Teasdale, as well as his brother William Tonti. He leaves behind the love of his life Margaret Ann Wangler. He is survived by his brother Edmond C Tonti, his nieces as well as his four children Robert J Tonti, Michael T Tonti (Barbara), Colleen Tonti Trabold (Frank) and John W Tonti. Robert was the proud grandfather of Stephen Tonti, Bryan Tonti, Jennifer Tonti, Ashley Tonti, Christina Tonti, Graham Tonti, Colin Trabold, Corinne Trabold and Matthew Trabold. Robert graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1956. He and his brother Ed formed a custom home building company with the help of their father William. The company, Tonti Properties, later built multifamily units primarily in Jefferson Parish.

Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA. 70124 from 10am-12pm. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Catholic Funeral Mass on Saturday January 14th from 12pm to 1pm. A private Interment will be at a later date.
