Ronald "Gator" I. Milliet, Sr.

Ronald “Ronnie” “Gator” I. Milliet, Sr passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanora Griffin Milliet and Joseph Albert Milliet; and granddaughter, Stevie L. Milliet. Ronnie is survived by his children, Brandi Milliet, Ronald I. Milliet, Jr. (Jill) and Robbie J. Milliet (Kailyn); his granddaughters, Gracie M. Milliet, Mallory K. Milliet and Kennedy G. Milliet; his siblings, Robert Milliet (Bonnie), Joel Milliet (Pearl), Steven Milliet and Joann Milliet; and many other relatives and friends. He was a native of New Orleans and a proud resident of St. Bernard Parish. Ronnie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was also a proud member of the Shriners Club. Lodge No. 367. Through the Shriner’s he rode his Dune Buggy in parade details and all functions. Ronnie was a dedicated worker until his injury on the job. He enjoyed being out on the boat, going to the camp with his friends and family, being at the bar with his buddies with ice cold Miller Lite and mostly being with his grandkids. Ronnie was a tough shell to crack, but once you did, you saw a kindhearted man. He believed in working hard for what you have but said to never forget to make time for your family. Ronnie will be greatly missed, but he is now at peace. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 12pm. Visitation will begin at 10AM until Mass begins. Inurnment will take place at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 10AM with military honors.
