

Ronald Raymond Romagossa, Sr. passed away after a lengthy illness on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Beatrice Giglio Romagossa of 51 years; son of the late Howard L. Romagossa, Sr. and Genevieve Parker Romagossa; father of Ronald Raymond Romagossa, Jr.; grandfather of Olivia Romagossa, Brandon Romagossa, Gabrielle Romagossa, and great grandchild, Brynn Hellbach; brother of Amarylis Hastak (Henry), Rochelle Beba (Henry), Janice Kiefer (Robert), Marilyn Flores (Peter), Howard Romagossa, Jr. (Yvonne), Merlin Romagossa (Ramona), and Garrett Romagossa, Sr. (Sandra). He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Michel and brother, Harold Romagossa. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Pauline Billings, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ronald graduated from Holy Cross High School, and received his B.A. in education from Southeastern Louisiana University.
He was a dedicated teacher for 40 years. He taught at Holy Cross High School and continued on with Orleans Parish School Board (F.T. Nicholls / Douglas High School). He began his teaching career as a track and field coach and drivers education teacher. From there, he was to become a business education teacher and Department Head at F.T. Nicholls / Douglas High School. Also sponsored, coordinated, and taught the Distributive Education Club of America (Louisiana Chapter).
He was a member of the 4010 Hospital Unit in the Army Reserves. Ronald was an avid fisherman. He had a love for walking in the neighborhood and never met a stranger. He always kept in touch with childhood friends from grammar and high schools. He loved his retreat at Diamondhead and enjoyed being at the Coast.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM.
