Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Ron was the son of the late Kathleen B. Williams and Richard A. Williams. He graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans and served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve. His career included work as a weights engineer for Textron and later as a personnel director for an industrial firm.
Ron raised his family in New Orleans and shared 28 years of marriage with Ann Williams. Together, they had their son, Shawn Everett Williams. Ron loved being out on the water, with sailing and fishing among his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed breeding exotic birds and was one of the founding members of the Louisiana Aviculture Society.
Ron is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sandra Shade Williams, whom he married on February 8, 2002; his son, Shawn Everett Williams and his wife, Leslie A. Williams; his daughter, Ruth Willis; and his half-brother, Dowell Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ronnie A. Williams II, who passed away in 1995.
His grandchildren include Patrick Williams and Christopher Williams, sons of Ronnie; Ashley N. Hartman, Shawn Everett Williams II, Pierce E. Williams, and Katelynn Williams, children of Shawn; and Jimmy Willis, son of Ruth. His family also includes his wife’s children, Sam McGrew and Georgia M. LaBelle.
His memory will live on through his family and those who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM - 10 AM with a service to begin at 10 AM.
