Rosemary Davis Fortmayer

Rosemary Davis Katz Fortmayer passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. She was 77 years young. Loving mother of “The Katz Boys”, Barry, Jeff (Jane), Mark (Tricia), and Bruce Katz (Karen). Grandmother of Riley and Molly Katz. Sister of Marlene Sherman (Al). She is also survived by her nephew, David Sherman, and niece, Julie Haravay.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Fortmayer; and her parents, Abe “Jeff” and Gertrude “Goldie” Davis.

Rosemary was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to New Orleans in 1957. She graduated with honors from Charity Hospital School of Nursing, and worked as a registered nurse. Her children and grandchildren were the focus of her life. Rosemary loved New Orleans culture, Mardi Gras, LSU, and the Saints.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Congregation Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Ave. in New Orleans, on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:30AM. A visitation will begin at 10:30AM. Interment will be private.
