Roy Henry Toepfer

Roy H. Toepfer, loving husband of Brenda K Toepfer, fell asleep in death on June 23rd. He was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Sophie Toepfer, his brother Albert Toepfer, his step-son Jamie Studdard and daughter in law Cheryl Toepfer and son in law CJ Rivet. He is survived by his brother Donald Toepfer. He is also survived by his children Mark Toepfer, Matthew Toepfer (Debbie), Pamela Patin (Richard), Patrice Rivet, Penny Taylor (Ira), and Peggy Egan (Robert). He is also survived by his step-children Charma Shirah (Chris), Sandy Studdard (Leslie), Drew Studdard (Karen), and Brandon Studdard (Vanessa). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nephews and nieces which includes Donna Toepfer Pino. He grew up and had many adventures in the French Quarter where he made many lifetime friends. He graduated from St. Aloysius in 1957. He loved sports and was a coach for youth basketball and football at Delta Playgrounds for many years. Roy worked at Avondale Shipyards and Wall Shipyard. Roy and Brenda started TT Barge in the 1970s. Roy loved and appreciated all the hard work by “the guys” who worked for TT Barge over the years. To those people, his family would like to say, “Thank You.” Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 PM.
