Ruby Parker Ivory

Ruby Ann Parker Ivory peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the age of 74. She was born on June 23, 1942 in New Orleans, LA to Ruben Parker, Sr. and Mary Alice Parker. Ruby was married to the late Leon Ivory, Sr. for twelve years and from this union came eight children. Leon Jr., Arleen, Gregory, Phyllis, Sandra Vera, Cedric, Veronica, and Mary Alice. Ruby attended Booker T. Washington High School and graduated with a certificate in Business from Meadows Draughon Business College. Ruby was baptized at an early age at the Louisa Street Church of Christ and was a very spiritual woman. She raised her children in the Lord. The most important thing to Ruby was all of her children becoming a Christian and living a Christian life. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the State of Louisiana, Office of Maternal and Child Health. She was a dedicated worker who excelled on the job. She was passionate about serving others and helping to improve the health and well being of mothers and children throughout the State of Louisiana.
