Ruth L. Gairen entered into the Kingdom of Heaven to meet our Heavenly Father on Tuesday October 7, 2014. Ruth was preceded in death by her Father August Leon, her Mother Augustine Vorticsh Mason, her husband of 46 yrs Kenneth Gairen and her Sister Elizabeth Leon. She is survived by her grandchildren Scott B., Colleen D. and Michael McCoy along with cousins Doris, Michelle, Christine and Christopher. Ruth has lived a fulfilled life of 99yrs. Ruth graduated from Sophie B Wright school at the age of 16 and furthered her education at LSU. Ruth retired from Bell South Telephone Company after 36yrs of dedicated service. Ruth was a founding member of the Faith Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Church. A celebration of her life and viewing will be held on Friday October 9, 2014 at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. from 6-8pm and the Funeral Service will be on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at noon at FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH, located at 2318 Fern St., New Orleans. La. The interment will take place at Lake Lawn Mausoleum.
