

Sara was born in Cheneyville, Louisiana to Joseph Parrino and Antonia “Annie” Cammareri Parrino. When she was young her family moved to New Orleans, where she lived until Hurricane Katrina. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart on Canal. She worked for 35 years as an administrative assistant at the LSU Medical School Bookstore.
Sara was a devout Catholic. She was a member of the St. Jude Society. She was former member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in New Orleans, St. Jerome Catholic Church in Kenner, and Nativity of Our Lord Church (now Divine Mercy) in Kenner. She was most recently a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Baton Rouge.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She stayed true to her Italian heritage and loved making spaghetti at family dinners for them. Sara was an avid reader and enjoyed novels. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time in her flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Annie Parrino, as well as her nine sisters, Anne Henderson, Josie Biggs, Mamie Parrino, Lena Adams, Nena Sciortino, Lucille Hudson, Genevieve Zaunbrecher, Rose Thorne, and Mary Cerami.
Sara is survived by the love of her life and her husband of 70 years, Edward Ernest Moran, Sr. She is also survived by her children, Kathy Moran Guilbeau (Joe), Sue Moran Fricke (Mike), Patricia Moran Wiltz (Mark), and Edward Ernest Moran, Jr (Julie); grandchildren, Kristen Guilbeau Foyil (Ace), Jeffrey Guilbeau (Kat), Ryan Guilbeau (Sierra), Kyle Fricke (Rachael), Kristine Fricke Leonard (Brett), Kevin Fricke, Tyler Wiltz, Parker Wiltz, Madison Wiltz, Sydney Wiltz, Jessica Moran Dombrowski (Ryan), Rachel Moran Gill (Will); her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Charlotte, and Wes Foyil, Brady and Audrey Guilbeau, R.J. and Rowan Dombrowski, Jacob and Jordan Fricke, Cole Byers, Lane Fricke, Daisy Leonard, and Cason Wiltz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of her caregivers at Audubon Hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sara’s services on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with a recitation of the rosary at 12:30 PM. Her Memorial Mass celebrated by Fr. Joseph Krafft will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a brief committal service at Metairie Cemetery on the same grounds.
