Sarah Berry Alack

Sarah Elizabeth Berry Alack entered into her heavenly home on February 2, 2017. She was two days shy of celebrating her 97th birthday. Sarah was born on February 4, 1920 in Ruston, LA and was a proud graduate of LA Tech University where she earned degrees in education and business. She was a longtime resident of New Orleans, LA; and loved singing, dancing, traveling with the People Program, and Mardi Gras Balls and parties. She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Timothy B. Alack; her former husband, Frank B. Alack; her parents, James and Lillis Berry; three brothers, William Berry, James Spencer Berry, and an infant brother; five sisters, Mattie Byrd, Annie Mae Simpson, Betty Jo Miner, Gloria Jean Harvey, and Laura King. She is survived by her children Carolyn A. Catton (Bobby), James C. Alack (Mary Ellen), Linda A. Opotowsky, Frank J. Alack, and Judy A. Lala (Gary); grandchildren Suzanne Englade (Ryne), Richard Lemoine (Kristi), Crista Madison (Jeff), and Lisanne A. Dussouy; and great grandchildren Amber Lemoine, Will Lemoine, Emma Grace Madison, Jon Paul Madison, Luke Madison, Lilia Dussouy, and Eleny Rose Dussouy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation beginning at 10:30 am and a funeral service at 12:00 pm followed by interment in All Saints Mausoleum.
