Scott Allen Stuntz passed away peacefully on October 18, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on April 5, 1958, to the late Walter "Sonny" Stuntz and the late Shirley Stuntz. He is survived by his wife Corinne; son and daughters, Sean Stuntz (Corie), Shannon Nichols (Derek), and Jessica Bailey (Daniel); four grandchildren (Brooklynne, Riley, Cole, and Jessica's expected Baby Hillmann); and two siblings, Shari Stuntz and Shane Stuntz (Jessica). He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Stuntz. Scott graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in 1976 and went on to work for Entergy, retiring after 38 years of service.
Scott used his talents for other people. He loved music and played guitar for the band Expressions as a young adult. He also grew to love dog training, earning two titles on his German Shepherd, Shadoe. He later taught obedience classes so others would have a chance to bond with their pets. Scott also enjoyed photography. He began taking pictures of pets, and he eventually grew his craft to include weddings, birthdays, rodeos, and any occasion on which a friend might like to have pictures. Scott shared his gifts freely. He enjoyed meeting people and made friends everywhere he went.
Scott will be remembered for his quick witted humor, generosity, and the joy he shared with everyone around him.
Scott's funeral will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24. Visitation will be 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, and the memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Louisiana SPCA.
