

Sebastien Francois Christophe Carrouee passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 11, 2018. Sebastien was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Deidre Doan Carrouee and Jerome Marc Philippe Carrouee on October 1, 1996.
Sebastien was a bright young man and graduated a year early from New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy. Sebastien was of French heritage and spoke fluent French. After high school, Sebastien earned his EMT certifications and worked for Acadian Ambulance. He was very proud of the brave work he did as an EMT. Sebastien was a Type 1 Diabetic and as a teenager, he worked for two summers as a counselor at the Lions Camp for boys and girls with special needs, making sure the campers enjoyed a week of swimming, campfires and friends. Sebastien was a voracious reader, devouring Harry Potter books in one sitting. Sebastien’s sense of humor, outgoing personality and loyalty to friends drew others to him. He was an avid hockey fan in the deep south, often wearing long-sleeved hockey jerseys in the middle of summer. Sebastien moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue a life of sobriety. He lost the battle with the multiple foes of diabetes, addiction and depression on June 11, 2018.
Sebastien leaves behind his mother and greatest supporter, Deidre Doan Carrouee, his father, Richard Golden, his older brother, Devin Golden, who he always looked up to, his beloved younger sister, Simone Golden, grandparents Francois and Herve Carrouee and Mary Claire Byrne, his Aunt Rebecca Bird and cousin Jessica Bird and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles from the United States and France as well as tons of friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Chris Doan, grandfather Dick Golden, grandfather John Doan and his uncle, Tim Toler whom he adored as a child.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m.
