

On Monday, August 16, 2021, Sheila Nolan Flick passed away peacefully hand in hand with her daughter, Shana, in her home at the age of 69. She is a native of New Orleans and resident of Metairie. She attended Loyola Law School where she was a member of the Law Review. She graduated from law school summa cum laude in 1982. She began her career as a Law Clerk for Chief Justice Pascal Calogero. She then became a Senior Law Clerk for Judge Denis Barry at the 4th Circuit Court of Appeal from 1984 to 1998 until his retirement. She finished her long career as a Senior Criminal Staff Attorney at the 4th Circuit Court of Appeal and retired in September 2016.
Beloved daughter of the late James Gerard Nolan and Ethel Edna Schneider Nolan. Sister of the late Patrick Anthony Nolan. Loving and devoted mother and best friend of Shana Flick. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Darlene Nolan, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Throughout her distinguished legal career and adult life, she was able to enjoy traveling with her daughter and best friend, Shana. Together they enjoyed live music, dinners at their favorite restaurants, riding in Muses and Sunday Funday. They made endless memories at the condo in Destin. She was a mom to all of Shana’s friends and never missed a party. She lived life to the fullest despite battling numerous health issues.
A special thanks to Passages Hospice especially Shelby, Michel and Anthony who were God’s angels on earth. They offered loving care and support to Sheila and Shana in the final weeks of her life.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
