

Shirley Klein Babin, a native of Chicago, IL and a resident of Jefferson, La for over 60 years passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at The Blake in Bossier City, La. She moved there after evacuating for Hurricane Ida, from The Claiborne in Thibodaux, which had been her residence for 4 years. She was born on November 7, 1925 recently celebrating her 96th birthday (above picture taken on this day). She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Clyde Babin, her brother Jim Klein and parents Arthur and Lillian Klein. Shirley is survived by her brother Bob Klein of Mt. Pleasant, IL and his 2 daughters, Kathryn Dahlgren and Elizabeth Klein from IL whom she enjoyed Facetiming with during her last months. She is also survived by 11 additional nieces and nephews, whom shared in her care. Shirley was a retired secretary for The Pillsbury Co. She was always impeccably dressed and sewed most of her clothes. Her hobbies included oil painting, jewelry making, cake decorating, and of course sewing. Over the years she also dabbled in rock painting, paper mache’, cross stitching, and making doll clothes. She was a lady of many talents. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11AM held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124.
