Shirley Wise Blancher passed away on July 1, 2022 at the age of 94. She was born on December 14, 1927 in New Orleans to Joseph and Anna Montelepre Wise. Shirley was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Shirley was a Homemaker, she loved cooking Sunday dinner for her family, working in her garden, playing the piano, line dancing, going on cruises and bus tours with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna Montelepre Wise; her siblings Joseph Wise Jr, Myrtle Wise Borne, Anna Mae Wise Lambert and Betty Wise Wichterick.
She is survived by her husband of 75 years to Edmond Charles Blancher Sr. and her children Raymond, Kathy (Glen), Lynn (John), Cynthia (Paul), Ronald (Donna), Edmond Jr (Malinda) and Susan; 16 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Wise Oalman, Joan Wise Guastella, Fayanne Wise Burkhart and a host of many other relatives and friends.
Shirley’s family would like to thank Visiting Angels for helping with her care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 10 AM until 12 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12 PM. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in New Orleans.
