

Stanley J. “Rus” Mayeux passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the age of 67 years. Father of Angelle Mayeux Verbois (Glenn), Don Broussard (Brandy), A.J. Broussard, Ezekiel “Zeke” Mayeux (Brandy), Isaiah “Zaya” Mayeux (Luna), Tonya Ragas (Shane) and Christina Laughlin (Scott). Grandfather of Haley, Amber, Andrew, Skye, Cage, Anjelle, Adren, Alyssa, Aleigha, Aiden, Ian and Kim. Beloved son of the late Heloise Miner Mayeux and Justin Donald Mayeux. Brother of Philip Mayeux, Jim Mayeux and the late Richard “Ricky” Mayeux. He had a creative passion for art, loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He enjoyed the outdoors, movies, his grandchildren’s activities and especially attending bible studies. He was a devoted Christian who attended Calvary Chapel of New Orleans and enjoyed visiting Fellowship Bible Church in Metairie. While most school friends knew him as Stan, his closest friends called him Rus and he was affectionately known as Rusty by family. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran. During his tour of duty, he once served 13 months on a hardship tour in Korea in the Demilitarized Zone and after his military service he worked with the family’s insurance business before going on to form his own business in sales and advertising. Rusty was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie and a graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School, attended University of New Orleans and was an avid LSU and Saints fan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70124 on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 12:00 Noon.
