Stella Dominguez Rogers

Stella Dominguez Rogers, age 92 ½, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 5, 2021. Stella was born on January 5, 1929 and was one of twelve children. She was native New Orleanian and a longtime resident of Kenner. She was raised in the Irish Channel and graduated from Redemptorist High School and married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Rogers. Stella retired from Gaitronics as a communication technician after several decades, at the age of 70. She also worked at Lykes Brothers Steamship Company for many years, as well.

She was preceded in death by: her parents Ernesto and Josephina Dominguez; her beloved husband, Kenneth L. Rogers, Sr.; her son, Kenneth Rogers, Jr., and her daughter, Paige Rogers Mann. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ella Quin, Joseph Pappy Dominguez, Louis Dominguez, Ernest Dominguez, Florence Kelly, Mel Rose LoBruno, and Josie Dominguez.

She is survived by: her daughter, Deborah R. Thibodeaux (Steven); her sisters, Ernestine Bird, Marina Ruiz, and Diane Baldwin; her brother, Robert John Dominguez; her grandson, Christian S. Thibodeaux (Kristin); her great-grandchildren, Zachary Thibodeaux and Kaitlin Thibodeaux; and her son-in-law, Thomas Mann.

Everyone loved Stella. There is no doubt that the second her heart stopped beating, she was in the arms of Jesus, her beautiful smile even more radiant now as she is reunited with everyone she loved. She was a beautiful, strong woman, always wanting and willing to help anyone—someone who always saw the good in everyone she met. She will be remembered for her loving heart, giving spirit, and unconditional love.

Stella will never be forgotten for the special, generous woman she was, always touching lives and making treasured memories.
