

He was preceded in death by his father, James Byrne; his mother, Marcella Byrne; and his brother, John Byrne. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Alice Byrne; his former spouse, Alicia M. Noel; his brothers, Christian and Kevin Byrne; his sister, Sharon DeCastro; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his extended family of choice, Dane N. Hanlon and Austin C. Noel.
Stephen (Kim) was born in New Orleans on July 10, 1952. He had a passionate love for music which he turned into a career. In his early years, he worked in local radio, and then went on to work for Atlantic Records, where he worked in promotions and A & R (Artist and Repertoire) signing artists. He also consulted for Capital Music Group and formed his own imprint label Forward Entertainment. He sat on the Grammy Board Memphis Chapter.
During football season, Stephen (Kim) worked for networks hosting New Orleans Saints games and feeding game score information. He was also very happy to experience the New Orleans Saints win a Super Bowl in Miami, Florida. He had many interests including reading, traveling, golfing, and attending music festivals.
Stephen (Kim) was very dedicated to his faith, family, and many friends. He always loved this motto, “it doesn’t suck.”
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Poydras Home for their dedication and compassion.
A private graveside service was held for the family at Lake Lawn Park in New Orleans. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be announced at a later date.
