Stephen Montelepre peacefully passed away and joined the band in rock and roll heaven on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the age of 64 from natural causes at his home in Hammond, LA. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Lorinda Foltmer Ross Montelepre of New Orleans and his step-daughter Ashley Gray (Scott) of Jackson, MS. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marion Bourgeois Montelepre and his father, Ronald Paul Montelepre, both of New Orleans, LA. He was unconditionally dedicated to his wife, his family, kitties and close friends. Stephen was born at Montelepre Hospital in New Orleans and was a graduate of De La Salle High School in 1971 and the University of New Orleans in 1978. He worked alongside his family at Montelepre Hospital and loved everything about the city. Stephen moved to Hammond 30 years ago and became a partner and framer at Lorinda Ross and Associates Art Gallery and Custom Framing Studio. He was the Hammond Balloon Festival Balloon Master for 2 years, where he met his wife and fell in love with the land and serenity of Hammond. He lived a quiet life enjoying his home and the land on the Northshore. Stephen was a consummate collector of all things musical and artistic, a passionate and talented musician and artist in his own rite. He had a thirst for knowledge. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service at the Montelepre family final resting place at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE CEMETARY, 5100 Ponchartrain Blvd., on Thursday, July 26, 2018 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to an animal shelter of choice in honor of Stephen or by doing something kind for another who is ill or less fortunate.
