Stephen Joel Nagin

Steve was born in New Orleans on February 5th, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents Norman G. Nagin Sr. and Frances LeBlanc Nagin,; and his brother Norman G. Nagin, Jr. He is survived by sisters Angelle Nagin Dunham and Laurie Nagin; and brother Chris A. Nagin.

Steve was married twice and had two daughters from his first marriage, Danielle Nagin Sutton (David) and Alicia Nagin Griffin (Lonnie); and from his marriage to Nora Smith Carrillo, he had two sons and two step-children, Joel Stephen Nagin (Kailee) and Landon Zachary Nagin (Alyssa), Aaron Jeremy Saballos, and Ingrid Celeste Saballos. Steve is also survived by five grandchildren, Gavin Blakley, Ashton Griffin, Gabrielle Sutton, Brooke Griffin, and Levi Joel Nagin.

He graduated from Bonnabel High School in 1978. He was a diesel/RV mechanic. For many years he worked for Stepper Towing/RV and for Cypress Swamp Tours, and more recently, Ultimate Swamp Adventures. Steve was a very hard worker who could fix just about anything. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. On hunting season weekends, he loved to gather with his buddies at the hunting camp. Steve was a loving and devoted father. He had many close life-long friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from 9AM to 11AM on August 11, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a funeral Mass at 11AM, and interment thereafter at All Saints Mausoleum.
