Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Karen Trahan Marsh; his two children, Corinne Marsh Barns (Kevin) and Henry Bradley Marsh (Angela); his five grandchildren, Donovan Barns, Charles Barns, Nora Marsh, Noah Marsh, and Lillian Marsh; his brother, Brian Marsh; his two nieces, Amber Hebert (Nelson) and Laura Jones (Adam); and his three grand nieces, Ashton Hebert, Victoria Hebert, and Ellyana Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Skip and Marge Marsh.
Steve was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 20, 1955. He graduated from East Jefferson / Bonnabel High School (class of 1973), where he served as class president, was on the wrestling team, and helped design the senior class ring. He continued his education at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette), where he earned his bachelor’s degree, served as fraternity president of Delta Tau Delta, and was the vice president of the Greek Council.
Steve’s career in business spanned several decades. He worked for Northwestern Mutual Life and later with Magellan Financial Group, where he was a financial advisor for the service members at the Belle Chasse Naval Air Station.
Steve had a passion for sailing, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family. He loved New Orleans and all the things that make the city unique; especially Mardi Gras, live music, and the French Quarter. He was also a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church.
A private service will be held on Saturday, August 15th; a Catholic Mass will be held at a date TBD. Please refer to Steve’s Facebook for information on the Mass.
