March 18, 1941 – January 20, 2024
Obituary of Susan Ann Ducasse Aparicio
IN THE CARE OF

Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries

Susan Ann Ducasse Aparicio passed away peacefully at the age of 82. A native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Covington La. for the past 17 years. She was the beloved wife of Albert Aparicio, Jr. of 63 years. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Rosemary Halsall and Robert E. Ducasse, Sr., her in-laws Alcida O'Rourke and Dr. Albert Aparicio, Sr. She is survived by her children Andrée Aparicio Abernethy, Alan Aparicio (Shannon), Angèle Aparicio Pizzitola (Joseph), three granddaughters Megan Aparicio, Kayla Aparicio, and Dr. Kera Aparicio James (Robert) and two great grandchildren Tori Adams and Louis Knight.

Also survived by her siblings Denise Ducasse O'Connell (John) and Robert E. Ducasse, Jr. as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends. Susan graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1959 and was a very dedicated volunteer serving as parents club president, serving on the cookbook committee, and reviving the Alumnae office as well as being active in service to various Catholic Parishes. She also enjoyed sewing and cross-stitch and sharing her creations with family and friends. It is difficult to find the appropriate words to describe the intensity of her loyalty to her family, friends, and the many organizations she served. Besides these activities, she raised three wonderful children, helped raise one granddaughter and tolerated the missteps of a husband. The family will have a private burial service and will host a celebration of life at a later date. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to their favorite charity in Susan's name.
