Suzanne “Sue” Vizard, 67, born in New Orleans November 5, 1950, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 after tireless nights with loud rowdy loving siblings and an unforgiving battle with cancer. Sue was predeceased by her father Anthony Vizard and brother Patrick Vizard. She is survived by her mother Emily Waguespack Vizard; sister Beth Lambert (Hugh), brothers: Phillip Vizard (Ellie Brooks) Los Angeles, Michael Vizard (Becky) St Joseph,LA., and Kevin Vizard. Neices and Nephews: Palmer, Hillary, Meritt, Reyn, Demian, Wolf, Eliza, Sarah, Ross, Brooke, Patrick,
Taylor, J.R., and Thomas. Sue attended the Academy of the Sacred Heart and Loyola University but was more of an autodidact than academic. She learned best by living. Sue was a devoted employee of Continental Airlines, and received special meritorious recognition from the Mayor and the City of New Orleans for her efforts to assist evacuees and victims of Katrina, never leaving her post during the devastating flood and disaster. Above all she adored her nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She had a favorite motto based on an anonymous quote: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away.” This was demonstrated through her love of the arts, including photography, painting, and pottery, her love of wildlife, marine life, the environment…….And a life accentuated by a smile and laugh as bright as the sun.
The family deeply appreciates the love and prayers extended by the staff and many friends from her residence at the Federal Fibre Mills, as well as, dear friends from Jacksonville, FL and NC. The family extends a special thanks to: Sharon Brannan, Lisa Powell and the entire staff at The Azaleas at Woldenberg Village; Jeanine and Passages Hospice Care……Also, special thanks to Alma Franco and Shawn Armstead, as well as, the doctors at Touro Hospital.
