Theodore John Adams, Jr., passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022, after courageously fighting a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judith Fremaux Adams, his beloved daughters, Jennifer Edith Adams and Leigh Adams Deutcsh, (his best buddy and son-in-law, Arthur), his cherished grandchildren, Allison Grace Deutcsh, Arthur Vincent Deutcsh, III, and Miles Theodore Adams, his devoted mother, Filomena Rose Adams, his dear sisters, Dolores Thomas (Robert) and Jacqueline Egresitz (Joseph-deceased), and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. His father, Theodore Sr., predeceased him.
Ted was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on August 29, 1946, and he loved growing up there, from serving as an altar boy, to enjoying summers on the beaches of Seaside Heights. Later, he became a star point guard at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and he earned many basketball scholarships to college. After one visit to New Orleans, he fell in love with the city and decided to attend Loyola University and play basketball for the Wolfpack. Ted also earned undergraduate and law degrees from Loyola, and he was grateful to have had so many lifelong friendships with his Loyola Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity brothers.
He practiced law for many years in New Orleans. And later, with his family, and a dedicated crew, he helped to create many beautiful homes in and around Old Metairie and Lakeview.
Ted enjoyed decades of fun and friendship while playing golf at Metairie Country Club. And of course, he loved the legendary Adams family Christmas night parties at home, St. Patrick’s Day crawfish boils, tailgating and watching the Saints, and enjoying countless Friday lunches with his buddies at Galatoire’s.
Nothing was more important to Ted than his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and father-in-law.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Fortune Dugan, Dr. Frank Rabito, and the wonderful staffs of Heart of Hospice and East Jefferson General Hospital for their compassionate and dedicated care.
Services will be private.
