Thomas Oliver Bayard passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the age of seventy-four after a prolonged battle with cancer. Beloved husband to Donna Pontiff Bayard for 49 years. Loving father to Roy Bayard (Fay) and adoring pops to Brooke Bayard. Son of the late Oliver and Delores Bayard and brother Paul Granberry (Debbie). Survived by his brothers, Timothy Bayard (Joan) and James Bayard (Pat). Tommy was an outstanding athlete playing Baseball, Basketball and Football at Bunny Friend playground in the ninth ward. His talent led him to Holy Cross High school where he excelled in Football and Wrestling. Football brought him to Utah for his college education. After college, Tommy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps assigned to Paris Island S.C. for his bootcamp training. Once he completed his commitment to the USMC he began his career at International Paint. Tommy’s 47 years career with International started as a service tech and through his hard work and commitment to excellence, rose to the position of Vice President over new construction. Tommy’s personality, unmatched ability to tell stories and Cajun style jokes (Cajun voice included) allowed him to take over a meeting, party or gathering with his peers and clients. When it came to business dealings, no one was better, tougher, or fairer according to the hundreds of client representatives he negotiated contracts with. He loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. His second passion was cooking his jambalaya, especially at dedicated events, for family, friends, clients and for the guys at the hunting camp. The greatest gift he shared was his ability to be the best husband, father, and grandfather.
