Tristan Robert Schultis, M.D.

Tristan Robert Schultis, M.D., passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 17, 2021. Dr. Schultis was born in New Orleans on January 12, 1952andwas a longtime resident of both New Orleans and St. Tammany Parish. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sebastian Schultis and Vernon Haydel Schultis. He is survived by his loving children, Stacie Schultis Dahl (Donald), Robert Sebastian Schultis, II, Blake Andrew Schultis and Brock Anthony Schultis, his grandchildren, Zoe Elizabeth Dahl and Donald D. Dahl, III., his brother, Dr. Eric J. Schultis and sisters, Jeffrie Schultis Fricke and Dr. Stefanie A. Schultis, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his beautiful golden retriever companion, Simba. Dr. Schultis was a widely respected physician in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Schultis received his degrees from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Xavier University College of Pharmacy and in 1978 his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University. Dr. Schultis interned and completed his residency with LSU affiliated hospitals in Louisiana. Dr. Schultis was in private practice for over 35 years followed by his true calling, 3 years as Professor of OBGYN at Lafayette General Medical Center. He cared deeply and passionately for his patients, touched thousands of lives and guided so many more throughout his beloved profession. Dr. Schultis left his mark wherever he went. Dr. Schultis loved being with his family, his pets, watching and yelling at his New Orleans Saints, his LSU Tigers, politics and his other life-long passion, opera. In lieu of flowers, his family asks to donate to the Golden Retriever Society or the SPCA.

Relatives And friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 12 PM. The visitation begins at 10 AM. A burial will follow the service in Metairie Cemetery.
