

Urania Gomez Navia Kistenmacher, age 89, passed away in her deeply beloved home on Sunday, May 22, 2022. She is the widow of Richard Kistenmacher and has lived in Biloxi, MS, for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Larry Navia, her mother Elena Cardenas Gomez, and her father, Francisco Gomez. She is survived by her son, Alfonso Navia (domestic partner Stacey Crawford); daughters, Maria Kazibutowski (widow of Luis Kazibutowski) and Scarlett Navia; grandchildren, Michelle Navia, Kristen Ruiz (Ryan), Rachel Hill (David), Cristina Bilinski (Tom), and Miranda Fortenberry (Justin); as well as six great-grandchildren.
She was born in Armenia, Colombia, S.A., married in Bogota to Pedro A. Navia, and the family moved to the U.S. with two toddlers, and settled in New Orleans where they raised four children.
She very much enjoyed and supported the Gulf Coast Symphony Guild, a titled Master Gardener, and a graduate of Realtors Institute of Louisiana.
She was a woman of many talents and had a keen eye for decorating and amplifying a landscape - she kept a beautiful estate on Biloxi’s backbay with her sidekick black poodle named Daisy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the Mass beginning at 11:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass at Lake Lawn Park.
