

Vanessa Conerly Honore' died peacefully in her home on April 16, 2015 after a long fight with cancer. She was 53 years old and wife of 24 years to Michael Gerard Honore' and mother of Nicholas Gerard, 22 years old and Christopher Warren 18 years old. Vanessa was born on December 3, 1961 in New Orleans, La. to the late Modena Walker Conerly of Tylertown, Mississippi and the late Fred Conerly of Franklinton, La. One of eight siblings, she was surrounded with joy and love by sisters Ava Conerly Rhodes (Steve), Hattie Conerly Lee (Emanuel), and Vendoria Conerly Perodin (Larry). Brothers include Frederick Conerly (Vanessa), Fred Conerly (Charmaine), Norman Conerly, and Bennie Conerly. She was also blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Additionally, she continues to be enamored by a few close friends since teen hood, affectionately referred to as "the girls". Their camaraderie continues to this day.
A product of the New Orleans Public School System, Vanessa attended McDonough 35 Sr. High School, graduating in 1979. After having attended specialized business courses, she then embarked on a fulfilling career in city government in the Office of Finance, City of New Orleans.
A visitation will be held at Tulane Memorial Baptist Church located at 3601 Paris Ave. in New Orleans on Saturday, April 25th. Visitation will begin at 11:00am followed by a one hour service. Interment will immediately follow at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd.
