Verinice O’Connor Mayley, age 91, passed away on Sunday December 3, 2017. She is survived by her daughters: Lynne Mayley Gorenflo, Gwen Mayley Schaneville, Jean Mayley Pagart, Anne Mayley Adams and Beth Mayley Mascaro; grandchildren: Tara Gorenflo Nicholas, Amy and Matt Gorenflo, Chris and Greg Schaneville, Adam Pagart, Brook Adams, and Caitlin and Malayne Mascaro; great-grandchildren: Annabel and Alafair Nicholas, Caroline and George Schaneville, Verinice Pagart and Ian Adams; sister, Florence O’Connor Onstad. She is preceded in death by her husband, Malroy E. Mayley; father, Judge James O’Connor and mother, Verinice Pedarre O’Connor. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and loved living here. Verinice graduated from the University of New Orleans. She had a zest for living, loved spending time with her family, gardening, lunching with her friends and attending events of the social organizations of which she was a member. Verinice was a Docent for the National Park Service, giving tours throughout the historic sites of New Orleans and a world traveler. She will be greatly missed by all. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00am.
