Verona Guillory, 88, of Kenner passed away April 8, 2026. She was born in Plaucheville, LA on May 10, 1937. She was an active member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish until its merger, and was an active parishioner for some time at Divine Mercy Parish in Kenner. Verona never met a stranger.
Verona was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel Dupuy Pastor and Elter Pastor; her former husband, of 37 years, James D. Guillory, Sr.; daughter, Connie Guillory Carpenter; sister, Esther P. Hewitt; and brother-in-law, Don Hewitt.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry G. Dietsch (Fred); son, James D. Guillory, Jr.; brothers, John Pastor and Jerry Pastor; grandchildren, Scott Dietsch, Amanda Dietsch (Edwin), Celeste Carpenter, and Jennifer Guillory; and great grandchildren, Christian, Olivia, Lily, Colby, Bailey, and Jay Lynn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am prior to the service. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park.
In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
