He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mariana O. Galvez; son, Victor Galvez, Jr.; stepdaughter, Mariana Collins (Daniel); stepson, Al Banegas, Jr.; step niece, Iris Ethridge (Samuel); grandchildren, Sean Collins (Brie), Brian Collins (Danely), Robyn Collins Sutton (Nate), and Shane Banegas (Kacie); and great grandchildren, Ellie Sutton, Alexander Gamez, Neve Collins, Nori Collins, Bennett Sutton, and Michael Collins.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Lisandro Galvez and Celina Zapata.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12 PM with a Mass following at 1 PM. Victor will be laid to rest at Lake Lawn Park immediately after the Mass.
