

Vincent J. Comberrel passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 84 years old. He was born on November 25, 1940, the only child of Nelly Rigney Comberrel and Vincent Comberrel and a proud Irish channel native. He attended Saint Alphonsus grade school and Redemptorist High School (Class of 1958) where he excelled in the classroom as well as on the basketball court and the baseball diamond.
He joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1963 and served our country with honor and distinction at Camp Pendleton, California. Upon discharge, he earned his business administration degree at Tulane University. There after he was employed in the local academic and business communities specializing in the areas of personnel management and human resources.
Vincent enjoyed attending Tulane football and baseball games, playing softball on Saturday mornings, and socializing with his family and countless friends, especially his Redemptorist classmates and teammates. A daily joy and ritual was dining at his beloved Kenner Seafood Restaurant.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 59 years, Lydia Gomez Comberrel.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Janice Comberrel, his grandchildren, Brielle, Ryleigh, and Caleb, his special goddaughter, Patty Griffin Ortiz, and "adopted" daughters, Sylvia Perigoni and Trudy Alexander. He is also survived by many beloved cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 10021 Jefferson Hwy, River Ridge, LA. Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM, with a funeral Mass to begin at 1PM.
