Vincent Papia, Jr. (Vinny) passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025 at his home in Metairie. Born on September 17, 1953, he was a lifelong resident of Metairie. He was preceded in death by his parents Vincent Papia, Sr. and Vivian L. Papia. He is survived by his two daughters, Monique P. Welch, (husband Mark) and Bria L. Papia; his grandchildren Holly Welch-Hughes (husband Dae), Vivian Annebelle Welch and Jon-Parker Welch; his sister Catherine J. Papia brother James J. Papia (wife Pamella); niece Sherry R. Papia and nephew Louis J. Papia.
Vincent was a proud Italian son, a lover of the open road, a man with a big heart and an even bigger laugh. He spoke of his Italian heritage the way people speak of treasure-with pride, with wonder, with a little swagger. Being Italian wasn’t just where he came from, it was who he was and wanted us to feel that pride too. Vincent loved the roar of a Harley beneath him. He loved the wind, the engine, the freedom of the ride that made him feel alive. He loved to tell stories of his biking adventures, his Band of Brothers, and bring a sense of belonging to his closest friends and family members. Vincent was a man of faith and participated in many fund raisers to help the men in blue who were wounded or in need. He was always giving as much as he could to people who were suffering from tragedy in law enforcement. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and love him.
