Virginia Marchese Russo

On Wednesday, May 30, 2018, Virginia (Gina) Marchese Russo, went to be with The Lord after a lengthy illness. She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on April 30, 1937. Daughter of the late Anthony Marchese and Lucille Gaezza Marchese, sister of the late Michael Anthony Marchese, Sr. (Miriam) and Joseph Anthony Marchese (Beverly). Survived by nieces Marlaine Marchese Peachey, Karen Marchese Barberito (Bobby) Kathryn Marchese Hirsch (Michael) and nephew Michael Marchese Jr. (Christine). Also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Gina was the former President of the Fountains Subdivision Homeowners Association and a Realtor with Prudential Properties. She is a member of Southern Christian Writers Guild where her beloved “Adventures of Muffin the Poodle” stories appeared on the web. After Hurricane Katrina, Gina moved to Mandeville, where she has resided for the past 12 years. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. The family wishes to express their extreme appreciation to Susan Sciortino, Gina’s compassionate caregiver, as well as a host of doctors, nurses, aides and dear close friends who also graciously fought the battle with her. Private graveside services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018.
