Virginia Chifici Tedesco

VIRGINIA CHIFICI TEDESCO, age 101, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026 after a long and fulfilling life centered on family, faith and friendship. Virginia was born on April 4, 1925 to the late Angelina and Frank Chifici. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Tedesco, Jr., DDS, their daughters, Angela T. Risey and Gina T. Pieri, and son-in-law, Ronald J. Risey, as well as her brothers, Henry Chifici (Ruby) and Frank Chifici (Barbara).

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Tedesco Fullmer (Roger); her five grandchildren, Rebecca Risey Davis (Scott), Paul A. Fullmer (Dalene), Alessandro Ugo Pieri, Gia Pieri McCandless (Fen), and Matthew J. Pieri (Jennifer); and her seven great-grandchildren, Sarah and Peter Davis, Addison and Henry Fullmer, Fenvrick and Luca McCandless, and Leo Pieri, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was a member and past president of the Elenian Club, where she celebrated her Italian heritage while supporting numerous charitable and community causes. Virginia was a devoted parishioner of the former St. Frances Cabrini Church and then St. Pius X Church, upon her return to New Orleans in 2017, after spending several years living in The Woodlands, Texas where she built and enjoyed a new circle of friends, and enthusiastically learned the game of mahjong.

Virginia once again found community at Vista Shores Assisted Living. Her family extends their heartfelt thanks to her devoted and loving band of angels – Bianca, Deborah, Robernike and Willanisha; and to the staff and care partners and many friends at SummerHouse Vista Shores whose kindness and companionship enriched her life over the last ten years.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 9:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M. with a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:00 A.M. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
