Wallace Pecquet

After a long, full life, Wallace Raymond Pecquet, beloved husband of Mary Ellen Schmidt Pecquet for 55 years, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born on January 2, 1943 to Adlai and Marie Carite Pecquet in New Orleans as the eleventh of thirteen children. He loved God and his family. His energy, smile, and playfulness was evident and will be missed; he never met a stranger.

Wallace was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Dorothy Miller (Wallace), Marie Helwick (Eddie), Joyce Kinsley (Fred), Rita Bonis (Walter), Janet Lotz (E.J.), Naomi Sofio (Frank), Emily Jourdan (Roy), Adler Pecquet (Rose), and David Pecquet. He is survived by children Lisa Harell (Mark), Susan Bruce (Kevin), and Kenneth Pecquet (Aejay); siblings Mae Mansour (George), Daniel Pecquet (Juanita), and George Pecquet (Emily); adoring grandchildren Luke Harell, Jack Harell, Caroline Bruce, Sutton Bruce, William Bruce, Rex Bruce, Jacob Pecquet, and Archer Pecquet; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, clergy, and Baton Rouge General hospital staff.

A visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 12pm to 2pm, followed by a funeral Mass at 2pm, and interment thereafter at Lake Lawn Park, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA.
