Born in Petite Caillou on March 14, 1919 to the late Malesie Eschete Hebert and Allen J. Hebert. Walterine is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Everett Adam Bellanger; her brother, Roy Hebert and sister, Eula Wimperine.
She is survived by her two children, Ellen B. Raines (late, Al) and Lynette B. Glaviano (Gary); her grandchildren, Keith Raines, Kim Chatelain (former spouse, Skip), Kelley Claybrook (Stephen), Mark Glaviano and Brian Glaviano (Carolyn); her great-grandchildren, Emily Chatelain and Hunter and Mackenzie Claybrook; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Walterine moved to New Orleans when she was about five years old. She studied secretarial skills in school and graduated from John Mc Donough High School in 1938. She held jobs with various government agencies throughout the years and retired after 30 years of Federal Service.
She was a devout parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Metairie and a member of numerous organizations including, Bon Temps, Golden Age, Jefferson Council on Aging and the National Association of Retired Federal Employee, Chapter 41. She will be deeply missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Rd. Metairie, LA 70005 on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation at church will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow the Mass in Greenwood Cemetery.
