Warren was born on January 4, 1941, in New Orleans, LA. Apart from a brief relocation to Lubbock, TX, for work, he was a lifelong NOLA resident.
He graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1959, where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. More importantly, it was during those years that he met the love of his life, Regina "Geanie" Robertson, then a student at St. Joseph Academy. Warren went on to graduate from Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 1964, where he served as vice president of his fraternity, Phi Kappa Theta.
He then went to work to support his growing family. From managing the Esso Dealers Training Station while still in school, to sales at Standard Oil, to managing the New Orleans branch for IBM, he built a career that led him to global corporate benefits leadership at McDermott and, later, employee benefits consulting at Marsh and at Gallagher. Warren was a tenacious worker. He especially enjoyed mentoring young colleagues, and he formed lifelong friendships in the process.
Warren served on his parish council and gave his time to many committees and pledge drives while his sons attended Jesuit High School.
Those who knew Warren knew he was extraordinarily proud of his family and fiercely loyal to his friends — resolute, generous, reliable, and jovial. His engaging sense of humor and his passion for family, friends, LSU, the Saints, and a cold beer were unrivaled. Like most New Orleanians, if he liked you, he was sarcastic with you. His signature line, "Glad you had a chance to see me," will echo in the memories of those he loved.
Warren Cuntz most certainly lived a life worth celebrating. His legacy is one of selfless service to his family and friends, immediate and extended alike.
He truly embodied the motto "Man for Others."
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Cuntz Sr. and Christiana Cuntz; his sisters, Teresa Cuntz Badinger and Dianne Cuntz; and his brother, Carl Cuntz Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Regina Robertson Cuntz; his daughter, Kelly Cuntz Langlois (Gary Sr.); his sons, Warren Cuntz Jr. (Marianne), Pat Cuntz (Cecilia), and Casey Cuntz Sr. (Dayna); his grandchildren, Katherine Cuntz Gioe (Christopher), Alex Cuntz (Sally), Kyle Cuntz (Ashley), Gary Langlois Jr. (Taylor), Nathan Langlois, Christopher Cuntz, Casey Cuntz Jr., Connor Cuntz, and Cooper Cuntz; and his great-grandchildren, Jack and Gus Gioe, John Henry and Carter Cuntz, and Gary Langlois III and Sofia Langlois.
The Cuntz Family sends heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful people at Inspired Living and to many staff members at East Jefferson Hospital.
