Warren Anthony Gettys

Warren Gettys on Monday November 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the age of 75 went home to his Lord and Savior and to rejoin his beloved wife Margaret after a valiant and lengthy fight. He is the loving father of Jeannine Gettys, Kimberly G. Treadaway and Stacie G. Devereux. He is also survived by his grandsons Christian Treadaway and Flynn Devereux. They are his pride and joy. His sister Doris G.Arcement (Remy) and Joyce Gettys. Preceded in death by the love of his life Margaret L. Gettys, his parents Warren H. Gettys, Joyce G.Burgdorf and step-father Louis Burgdorf. He is also survived by three men whom he considered sons Patrick Devereux, Michael Ard, and Byron Treadaway and a host of relatives. Mr. Gettys was a very proud United States Marine and a lifetime member of Paul E. Boyd det. # 579. He is a member of Graham-Washington Masonic Lodge # 413. Mr. Gettys a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Metairie and Kenner was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School in N.O. He served the citizens of Jefferson Parish proudly for 30 years as a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Officer. " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans on Monday November 21, 2016 from 5-8 PM and on Tuesday November 22 from 11-12.
