William "Bill" Bailey

William Arthur Bailey passed away on September 11, 2025. He was the son of the late Ansel Bailey and Theresa Galjour Bailey, and the brother of the late Gilbert Bailey. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Bailey.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his children: Monica Bailey Smith, Jason Bailey (Carolyn), and Jill Bailey, born to his first wife, Lynn Belle Miranda; and William Bailey and Braxton Bailey, born to his second wife, Gail Gaulon. He was the grandfather of Bailey Smith Nussbaum (Justin), Kacie Smith, Ava Smith, Megan Bailey, Claire Bailey, Ellen Bailey, and London Toups, and the great-grandfather of Noah Nussbaum.

A graduate of FT Nicholls High School, Mr. Bailey went on to earn his degree from LSUNO. He worked in hotel hospitality and accounting and was elected President of the Louisiana Restaurant Association in 1990. He also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. Bailey will be remembered with respect and affection by his family, friends, and colleagues.

A Graveside Inurnment will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. CDT at Lake Lawn Park, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana.
