

We are sorry to inform you that Rev. William Herman Blank, a priest of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, died on May 5, 2026. He was 80 years of age. Father Blank was born on May 6, 1945, in Queens, New York. He attended elementary school at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and secondary school at John Adams, both in Ozone Park, NY. He attended Allentown College of St. Francis DeSales. His seminary education was with the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and at Notre Dame Seminary. He was ordained as a priest on May 16, 1987, at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. Father Blank served as Associate Pastor at St. Louis King of France, Metairie and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Kenner, and was parochial vicar at St. Cletus, Gretna. Fr. Blank served as temporary administrator at St. Joachim, Marrero. His pastorates were at Holy Family, Franklinton; St. Julian Eymard, Algiers; and St. Hubert in Garyville. Father Blank retired in 2017 and was residing in Mandeville, LA at the time of his death. Visitation at St. Louis King of France Church Monday, May 11, 2026, beginning at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment to follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
