William Robert Fallon Sr.

William (Bill) Robert Fallon Sr., son of Henry Edward Fallon and Frances Fallon, passed away on May 9, 2014 at the age of 86. Husband of Grace Catanzaro Fallon for 64 years and father of William Fallon Jr., Glen Fallon (Cathy), and Patrick Fallon (Michelle). Grandfather of Connor, Greggory, and Rebecca Fallon. Survived by his brother Michael K. Fallon. Preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Edward, Juanita, Henry, and Frances. Mr. Fallon retired as a teacher and coach after many years of service in the Jefferson Parish Public School System; he was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and the University of Loyola. Bill was an All-State third baseman for the 1944 state champion Holy Cross Prep and American Legion (Comiskey Whiskey) baseball teams; he played professional baseball for the Greenville Bucks, Temple Eagles, Bryan Sports, Houma Indians, and the Thibodaux Giants. Bill was named to the Evangeline League All-Star team in 1951 hitting .327. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation and funeral mass at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division Street on Thursday, May 15, 2014. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass at 11:00. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
