William George Ohler, Sr.

William was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Melvina Ann Zimmerman Ohler; his parents, Lawrence Ray Ohler, Sr. and Mary Wilhelmina Owens Ohler; seven siblings, Vera Dunn (Don), Evie McDaniel (Mac), Lawrence Ohler, Jr. (Earline), Raymond Ohler, Sr., Merlin Ohler, Sr., Fred Ohler, and John Ohler; and a brother-in-law, Larry Snyder, Sr.

William is survived by his three children, William “Billy” Ohler, Jr. (Gina), Joseph Ohler, and Melissa Ann Ohler; his five grandchildren, Brett, Sean, Ethan, Luke, and MaryGrace Ohler; he was the middle of eleven siblings, and three are surviving, Jackie Snyder, Dolores Guidry (Richard), and Laurie Catalino (Gerry); and scores of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

William was born in the Milneburg section of New Orleans on July 2, 1943. He has resided in the City of Kenner, LA for the past 48 years. He was a retired Master Plumber, and though he worked in several areas, he retired from Lockheed Martin in 2010 after 25 years.

He loved to hunt, fish, and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a proud member / brother of Germania Masonic Lodge No. 46 for over 38 years, and was a past Worshipful Master (PM) and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was proud to serve his nation and support his entire family. He leaves behind a large host of both family and friends that will miss him dearly. The world will never be the same without his presence.
