Dr. William Alfred Poché, 96, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Doc was born February 15, 1922, in Lutcher, Louisiana to James and Wandie Poché. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a gunner and a radio operator mechanic. Doc attended the Illinois College of Optometry where he graduated with his doctorate. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a lifelong member of the Brown’s Point Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Booker Poché, and his two brothers, Baby and Jimmy. He is survived by his three children, Martha, Tommy, and Craig; his five grandchildren, TJ, Clint, Stephanie, Danielle, and Craig Jr.; and his nine great-grandchildren, Andrea, Jordyn, Luke, Quinn, Clara, Avery, Devereaux, Margaret, and Remy. No services will be held per Doc’s wishes. He will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread at his favorite place, Brown’s Point Hunting Club in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
