
Ben was a long time resident of Syracuse, New York and worked with his parents, at the family’s business, Sorrento’s Restaurant and Bar, on Lodi St. He then moved to Fort Myers Beach, Florida where he lived and worked for 34 years.
Benny enjoyed bowling, golfing and was a huge sports enthusiast. He was a die-hard NY Yankees fan who never missed a game and although had moved from Syracuse still loved “his” Syracuse Orangemen. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, casual humor and the comfortable ease as to which he used them to make people laugh.
Benny was predeceased by his loving parents Dominick “Red” and Mary C. Mollica, as well as his older sister Margaret Jean Mollica.
He is survived by his three children Mary M. Mollica, Dominick J. (Laura) Mollica both of Liverpool, NY and Michelle M. Mollica of Atlanta, Georgia. A sister Rose (John) Stefanelli of New Port Richey, Florida and four grandchildren; Joshua B., Kaitlyn K., & Hannah R. Ward and Christian M. Mollica, plus several nieces, and nephews.
A private family ceremony will be held, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 1:00 pm at North Meadowlawn Funeral Home, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, Florida. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The National Greyhound Adoption Program; 10901 Dutton Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154, or www.ngap.org.
