

Catherine D. Rubino passed away peacefully in her home in New Port Richey, Florida, on Friday, January 3rd, 2014 at the age of 85. Catherine was born in Bensonhurst, New York to the late Ferdinand and Catherine Iannacone. She was the second youngest of eight children.
When Catherine was twelve, her father passed away leaving her to care for her mother and her siblings. Also as a young girl, Catherine managed to survive a hit and run accident that left her with permanent scars.
Catherine was dedicated to the Catholic Church and was well on her way to becoming a nun when the love of her life, Frank Rubino, stole her away disappointing more than a few priests and parishioners.
Catherine followed her heart and married Frank who survives her. The couple enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. She is also survived by her sons, Mike (Lisha) Rubino, and Andrew (Amy) Rubino; and grandchildren,Nathan, Sarah, and Camille.
While in New York Catherine worked for Metropolitan Life as an insurance claims adjuster. She retired in 1989 and moved with her family to Florida where she enjoyed trips to the casinos in Biloxi, days at Anclote Beach and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
