
Cheryl Ann Raub of New Port Richey, aged 65, died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 surrounded by family after a 2013 stroke riddled her with further health struggles including dementia. Cheryl was born October 30th, 1952 in Hammond, Indiana to Charles and Irene Yager. She grew up in Griffin, Indiana with six siblings Kenny, Jack, Kathy, Chuckie, Terry and Steve. Cheryl graduated from Calumet High School in 1971. She married Jerry Baldwin in 1972 and had four children Jerry, Tamara, Jason, and Jeffrey before divorcing 13 years later. She remarried Gerald Raub in 1985 and had her fifth child, Michelle, in December of that year. Cheryl and Gerald, a machinist by trade, relocated to Florida in 1986. Cheryl had a diverse skill set and studied a variety of fields including nursing, business, accounting, early computer programming, sewing, doll-making, candle-making, and ballroom dancing. Her passion for learning and creating allowed her a broad and unique knowledge base. While pursuing her varied interests and talents in life, her biggest and proudest interests were her five children that she successfully raised.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Raub, her parents Chuck and Irene Yager, two brothers, Kenny and Chuckie, a sister-in-law, Bonnie and a son-in-law, Justin. She is survived by her siblings, Jack (Debbie) of Okeechobee, Kathy (Louie) of New Port Richey, Terry of Boyton Beach, Steve (Peggy) of Canada. She is survived by her five children: Jerry of Fort Lauderdale, Tamara of Lakeland, Jason of Tampa, Jeffrey (Carly) of New Port Richey, Michelle of Springdale, Pennsylvania; her three stepchildren Tracy (Derwin) of Indiana, Bill (Shannon) of Indiana, and Thomas of Orlando; seven grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren and one great step-grandchild. Cheryl also leaves behind a long list of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Hall in New Port Richey on January 13, 2018 from 12-3 followed by a short prayer service at the site of her inurnment, Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens
