

Dale Allen Baptie was born in Chardon Ohio to his parents Ward Everett Baptie and Ruth Isabell Baptie (Burgess). He was the third of five children. Dale spent the entirety of his childhood in the same family home that his mother grew up in. He attended Chardon High School as class of 1969, where he played football, baseball and golf and was a member of the glee club. Dale was proudly accepted into THE Ohio State University, where he earned his teaching degree.
Dale taught as a Drivers Ed teacher until he started working for the post office in 1976. After delivering mail for a year in the snow, Dale decided to move to New Port Richey Florida, where he resided until his passing. Dale met his wife of 41 years, Peggy Ann Baptie (VanOchten) in 1981. Dale worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years. He was a loving husband and father to his three children. Dale loved playing golf and watching whatever sports were on TV, but especially Ohio State Football. He enjoyed going to theme parks and going out to eat, especially at Pit-Boss barbeque. He loved his sweets also, and was particularly fond of Yoo-hoo and Frosty’s from Wendy’s.
Dale was preceded in death by his oldest brother Thomas. He is survived by his siblings, Gerald, Donna and Penny. He is also survived by his wife Peggy and three children, Nathan Jarvis Baptie, Amanda Rose Baptie, and Erica Dale Baptie, and one grandson, Brayden Allen Neymeiyer, who are all of Pasco County, Florida.
Visitation will be held at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, US, on July 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, US, on July 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
