Dan Kanis was born in Detroit Michigan on August 10, 1944, he passed away December 31, 2015. Dan grew up in Michigan and Miami, Florida. He has a surviving brother Mike and sister Kathy. He attended and graduated high school in Miami. Dan became a draftsman and worked in Miami, Florida. He met and married Carol on April 18, 1970. His daughter Karen was born a year later and his son Steve was born 3 years after that. Dan and his family moved to Dunedin, Florida and lived for 20 years.
He later retired and he and his wife moved to Port Richey, Florida. They enjoyed traveling to the Virgin Islands, Las Vegas, Canada and the mountains of Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. He enjoyed watching t.v. and football. His favorite teams were the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also enjoyed playing games on the computer and playing with his dog Bella. Dan is survived by 9 grandchildren; Amanda, Jessica, Makayla, Marcus and Camden from his daughter and Tyler, Felecia, Peyton, and Linken by his son. He also has one great-grandchild Ezra. Dan loved to spend time at family gatherings.
He was a kind-hearted man that never had anything bad to say about anyone. He will be missed by all.
